This beautiful fully counterbalanced crankshaft was machined from a solid piece of special high nickel alloy steel. This material is specifically used for 'trick' crankshafts and is not the commonly used 4130 series material. This special alloy has better fatigue life and is less prone to cracking. The crankshaft is heat treated, shot peened, magnafluxed, surfaced hardened by nitrating and micro polished.
This custom made crankshaft was verified and tested in an running engine for three hours.
